So hungry! and yet, so lazy...

On the weekends at Dovetail Bakery on 31st and Alberta you can get delicious vegan biscuits and gravy with smoked tempeh, alas it is not the weekend. Oh-also when you go there be sure to get the "Aunt Miriam sticky bun". It's lovely.

My non vegan boyfriend and I agree the biscuits and gravy here are better than most of the biscuits in gravy we've had all over town. So regardless of your interest in dairy and meat you will be smart to check it out. and by smart I mean your mouth will be happy.

I ate out a lot recently because of the laziness and busy-ness (final at school, looking for new job, etc) and mostly I ate lackluster food. Biscuits and gravy from Pine State with hashbrowns was decent but not amazing. Blargh, I need a new restaurant to try out, I'm bored with the rest of them, even the ones I love. Ok, maybe not bored-but not as interested in going when I want something new to try.

A few different weekends have led to fantastic brunches at Simpatica. Their waffle smothered in whip cream is a must if you are into that sort of thing (and for the record over at Tasty they have really been skimping on the whip cream n the french toast orders. they didn't used to but now you just get a small dollop...) Like Tasty they are meat heavy but it is still possible to get a scrumptious meat free meal. The only complaint I have about this place is one of the waitresses who we happened to have had three times, she is not perceptive, doesn't wait on us in a timely fashion and seems more suited to being a hostess/front of the room person vs a server. i was overjoyed when we didn't get her again last time we went. That way we actually got water and coffee refills and were able to put our orders in quickly.
