Wtf? I've never been to Jake's downtown, though I know its famous. I finally went there today for the first time to scope out their happy hour-not for drinks-after last nights "too too much fun"at the standard which resulted with me crashing on my way home, breaking my glasses and cutting my head most likely due to the broken glasses and having to be rescued by Drew and his friend with a car I decided I didn't need to drink today. Probably not tomorrow either. We'll see about Monday...I ordered a ginger ale-yum! and then went on to order several of the freaking cheap cheap cheap hh items. I got a cup of clam chowder-the thing they are famous for:$1.95!

I got a seared chicken sandwhich with fries(this plate alone would have been a fair sized meal)-$1.95! I got a bowl of mac n cheese made with gorgonzola, bacon and breadcrumbs-$3.95! and for dessert I got  a little pot de chocolate-$1.95. The ginger ale was 2.50 but 2.5 glasses out of it. The drink  minimum is $2.50 anyhow so it is a pretty sweet deal. I'm gonna go there on Thursday to sample some of their other delights. There is a ton of stuff on their hh menu-I spied salmon cakes, a tuna sushi roll, a spring roll, a cheese burger-those were all in the $1.95 section! I was amazed. Next time I won't order so much-it was too much really but I was ravenous as I'd missed dinner the night before. You're not supposed to get stuff to go but the waitress let me have a little box for my leftover mac n cheese cos I didn't want to waste it but was stuffed. If you haven't been to Jakes yet hit it up next time you're in the area. 

The hh runs 3-6 daily and they also have a late night hh 9-close Su-Thu and 10-? Fri and Sat.
