woke up early this morning to head off to work with enough time to swing by Sweetpea for that delicious fake cream cheese w/"bacon" and chive, but alas when i got there there were no bagels in sight(one of the employees was picking them up as i placed my order)... lame. so i got a double americano and warily ordered a slice of banana bread. when i got to work and lamented to my boss he laughs and says" oh yeah, we have a whoel batch of banana bread in the fridge. help yourself". thanks! i knew i shouldn't have bought that stuff! i usually try not to buy baked goods that i can make easily. this was the second time i caved this week though as on wednesday i ordered a slice of pie from Random Order, which i regretted for two different reasons. first of all-it didn' taste very good and secondly, i can make some damn good pie so i should have known better thn to spend money on pie. i mean its one thing if you are out travelling and all, and come across some little pie paradise on the side of the road. barring that i needt o make pie and not buy it. Anyhow, i got another americano with Kaiden later-he got a mango smoothie from the Tiny's off of Hawthorne. Then we were off to soccer and the park before heading back to his house where I made us quesadillas for lunch. We smothered them in salsa and had a side of blueberries. Yum and yum.

Last night I mostly had some Obsidian Stout for dinner, with a starter of pad thai leftovers. I capped the night off with a 22 of IPA, minus a glass i shared with my roomie Aden. She gave me half a sesame bagel. I totally know how to live it up. Aden finally got a job, she'sbeen having a hell of a time finding work, and she sold her car, so her luck turned around and I'm happy for her. I missed my chance to go out for celebratory drinks with her earlier as I didn't know what was up cos I was talking with a fellow on the telephone and couldn't be interrupted. The job market is totally ridiculous out there right now, so I'm glad something finally went right for her. Don't quit your dayjobs, peeps, if you have one. Thats the lesson I have to offer you currently.

My Wednesday was a freakin weird day, event wise and food wise. Coffee and bagel at the Tiny's on MLK with Sophie in the morning. I ordered a jalapeno and cheese bagel with butter adn they gave me cream cheese-which i wasnot thrilled about but ate because i didn't want it to get wasted. It totally made me be super phleghmy and I had to run to the bathroom at one point in mid conversation with Sophie to hack up a loogie. the joys.
Later i met up with kayla at RO, for the aforementioned bad pie(blackberry bourbon custard-sounds great but isn't!) and a hot chocolate-which was also subpar. We walked up to Thain Noon for soem dinner, we both got pad thai, she with chicken, me with tofu.I had a Thai iced coffee and she had aThai iced tea. We split some egg rolls. On the way we passed The Know and i saw Ben was there so I figured i should let bygones be bygones and say hello. It was weird to run into him so randomly but it was tying in with the strangeness of the rest of my day. We exchanged hellos and he was friendly which was a nice surprise as my last encounter with him had not been so pleasant. I hadn't seen or had any contact with him for 5 weeks, and it was nice to know that I could just say hello without it being a big deal. After dinner kayla and I rented osme movies adn i walked home, stopping in at the tea shop on Alberta, which I'd never been into and i bought 6 oz od Earl grey lose leaf tea. Kayla had gone home to drop soem stuff off adn was goingto meet me back at my place. I made upa pot of tea adn then she arrived, followed by Jennifer shortly thereafter. kayla also brought osme beer so I had two of those. Then we watched I am not here, that more recent movie "inspired by" Bob Dylan. It was pretty good but since we didn't even start it until 1 i started to nod off a few times.
We went and got breakfast at The Tin Shed Thursday morning but I was kind of grumpy and not being the best conversationalist. I got some potatoe pancakes topped with scrambled eggs and mushroom rosemary gravy and a biscuit. It was fine but not as delicious as it has been in the past...

I feel like there was soemthing pretty good I ate recently but can't remeber what it was. I made a good salad earlier in the week(endive, grated beet, carrot, ginger, red pepper, heirlom tomatoes, avacado) and i got a delicious croissant and some good bread from Little T bakery over on aprox. 27th and Division. I went to Montage and got the spicy mac on Tuesday night. It tastes the same as always.
I also met up my buddy Paul and his friends who just moved to town recently, at The Florida Room.It was pretty busy for a Tue. night, I ws a lil annoyed with having to wait in line. Nick joined us for a little while as well. I had two vodka tonics and a beer. After Nick left I had another beer-cos Paul and his friends kept going up to the bar and ordering 4 Olys at atime-to not have to deal with the line in the near future. We had a few more beers and chips back at their house later. Needless to say I was nursing a hangover the next morning. Its that gin, man, it just gets you!

I wanna make applesauce tonight...we'll see. I'm missing Cory's b-day party down at Rickreall tonight cos I don't have a ride and cos Dabby said it was on Saturday so I didn't make any extra effort to figure out how to get there tonight. Pfft. I'm gonna try to make him a cake tonight, maybe, and bring it down tomorrow for the race, which is looking like its gonna be awesome. I'm sure my food consumption over the weekend will consist of many beers(post race),a tamale-I heard we scored 200 tamales to bring to the race, and whatever else I can scrounge up.
