Well, I kind of got bored of my food blog, because it was more of a challenge than I was interested in. Most people making a food blog would choose only to highlight good food they made or had at a restaurant but I chose to chronicle all the food I ate. That became too taxing, if only because I really wasn't eating very interesting stuff and without internet access at all times I had to remember whatever the hell I ate.
Recently its been a lot of eggs, cos they are cheap. For breakfast I had some coffee that my friend/boss made and 2 fried eggs with a slice of swiss cheese nestled between two tortillas, doused with Tapatio sauce. It was edible, but really not that great.
My budget is low right now cos my roommates decided they didn't want "another" roommate and I'm getting the boot, oh the joys. Anyhow I have to save up to move so I can't afford to buy much more than the basics. I did splurge the other day and went to Miss Delta for some southernish food: meatloaf, mashed taters, mac n cheese,a Ninkasi IPA and hushpuppies. Mmmm, hushpuppies! Fried food is almost always good, but hushpuppies top my list of fried good things.
I made the mistake of having some bourbon followed by wine later on in the evening and that really didn't sit too well with my stomach, so I got to relive the dinner a few hours later. Somehow this didn't bother me enough to not eat my leftovers for breakfast the following day, as well as a scramble and some coffee. I tried a cafe au lait form Albine Press a little later but it started to make me feel queasy so I abandoned it and was a bit shaky until I had a beer at polo. I had one more and a cheeseburger later on whilst watching the Ravens/Redskins game. I called Teh Ravens to win, and they did. The first quarter was fun to wtach but then it slowed down and got kind of boring. Needing a bit more food I got one of those vegan wraps from the co-op, which tasted pretty bland, and an apple cider.
